* Hotel Reservations

The wedding hotel is the Hampton Inn & Suites, Mobile Downtown Historic District, 62 South Royal Street, Mobile, Alabama, 36602.

The special rate of $109.00 per room (not per person) per night, plus tax, is available from April 20th through April 25th, 2010. In order to receive this rate, one must give the group code, which is HSF. To make reservations please call the hotel direct at (251) 436-8787. This is the only way to guarantee the special rate. Note that you must make your reservation prior to April 7 in order to be guaranteed space at the hotel. After that date, the special rate will still be available, but room availability is not guaranteed.

The rooms set aside for the use of wedding guests are spacious suites with two queen beds. This upgrade to suite rooms is free. Smoking rooms are available upon request. Some rooms have balconies. Each room has a microwave, small refrigerator, coffee maker, iron, and 32" flatscreen television for free use. For guests with laptops, wireless internet service is also provided free of charge. Parking is not included in the room rate but is available at the hotel site, with in-and-out privileges, for $6.00 per day.

The hotel provides a free and full hot breakfast buffet every morning. There is also a well-equipped fitness center that can be used free of charge. What the hotel does not provide, you can most likely find at the local drug store next door.

The hotel is located within walking distance of numerous bars and restaurants. In particular, the Dauphin Street bars and restaurants are quite popular. The hotel's front desk can direct you to recommended establishments and provide local maps.


* Air Travel

The nearest airport is Mobile Regional Airport (MOB). If you are willing to rent a car and drive 1.5 hours, the Pensacola Gulf Coast Regional Airport (PNS) and Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport (GPT) are also options.

A shuttle is available from the Mobile Regional Airport to the hotel. Call the airport's shuttle services at (251) 633-0313 or (800) 357-5373 to make reservations in advance. The cost is $18 per person.


* Carpools & Car Rentals

The Mother of the Bride is doing her best to arrange carpools for out-of-town guests from the hotel to the ceremony, the ceremony to the reception, and the reception back to the hotel. If you require carpool space, please let us know in the "Additional Message" box when you RSVP!

Guests may wish to rent a car in order to have freedom around town, especially if they intend to visit tourist attractions. Mobile does have public transportation in the form of buses, but the bus routes are limited. A list of contact numbers for car rental agencies based at the Mobile Regional Airport can be located here.


* Driving Directions

The bride and groom recommend using Google Maps to plan your drive to and around Mobile. It will allow you to input the addresses of both your starting point and destination in order to receive turn-by-turn directions and a visual map. The Google Maps results for all event-related routes are linked below.
